Pasadena, CA – January 29, 2025 – Pasadena Federal Credit Union (PFCU) proudly welcomed Grammy-winning rapper and philanthropist, The Game, to its Lake Ave. Branch Community Center, where he joined local leaders, business owners, and community members affected by the recent Eaton Fire. Also in attendance were Sharis Rhodes, Chief of Staff to the Mayor of Inglewood, representatives from 95.5 KLOS radio station, and organizers from the Altadena Chamber.
The Game, a celebrated artist known for his chart-topping hits and community-driven initiatives, has been actively supporting relief efforts since the fires first broke out. During his visit, he listened to personal stories from fire victims who lost their homes and businesses, offering his support and sharing his own experiences growing up in Los Angeles. He emphasized the importance of unity in times of tragedy. Alongside volunteers, he distributed air purifiers to local businesses, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to recovery efforts.
PFCU CEO James Chang highlighted the Credit Union’s dedication to aiding the community, explaining how the Community Center has served as a storage and distribution hub for donations from the Altadena Chamber to assist local businesses impacted by the wildfires. He also reaffirmed PFCU’s mission of supporting its members and helping them rebuild during challenging times.
The Game has a long history of stepping up for his community. In response to the recent wildfires, he and his team delivered essential supplies—including food, drinks, blankets, and other necessities—to firefighters on the front lines in Pasadena. His efforts extended to animal rescue missions, reuniting pets with their families after the chaos.
“We are incredibly grateful for The Game’s compassion and for everyone who came together to support those in need,” said Chang. “This event was a testament to the power of community and the impact we can make when we unite to help others.”
To further support those affected, PFCU offers financial assistance resources, including Short-Term Emergency Loans, Loan Payment Assistance, and other aid programs. Members with existing loans are encouraged to contact PFCU for payment options, fee exceptions, and penalty-free certificate withdrawals. The PFCU team is committed to providing personalized guidance to ease financial stress during this difficult time.
